There were a lot of great performances at the Utah Distance Challenge this past weekend. This served as our time trial for the beginning of the season and we still saw a lot of indoor PRs and a lot of good solid races. Here is a recap of how everyone did:

1600m Results:

Brynn Black ran an indoor PR of 5:51 in the mile.

Drake DeHaan (4:44) & Bridger Booth (5:05) ran very solid races after both having not raced in almost 3 months. Ethan Maxfield ran very confident and got a new indoor PR with a 4:52 (he is only 3 seconds away from his outdoor PR)! Spencer Birchum (4:59.35) & Landon Edwards (4:59.88) broke 5 minutes for the first time ever!  Dawson Peters (5:08) was only 1 second off his indoor PR and 3 seconds off his outdoor PR after being injured the entire XC season.  Ethan Ferre ran a 15 second PR with a 5:09!  Isaac Pratt was 4 seconds off his Indoor PR with a 5:15.  Joseph Dean ran a 5:31 to beat his previous indoor PR by 5 seconds!

800m Results:

Gentry Pierce ran a 2:33 to place 13th and only 2 seconds off her indoor PR. Megan Ballard (2:56), Malina Srianan (3:00), Cat Gill (3:12), & Hayley Haslam (3:28) raced for the first time in almost 3 months due to XC injuries.  McKall Peters (3:03) months after taking a month break from running. Bianca Gonzalez (3:25), Allie Burrup (3:41), & Natalie Glenn (3:48) ran their first race ever!   Luke Perkins (2:18) & Alex Luna both ran PR's, 6 & 7 seconds respectfully.  Josh Scott, Bryce Hackworth, Zack Draper ran a 2:25, 2:33, & 2:50 after not running/racing in almost 2 months.  Jonathan Rosendo ran a 2:43 in his first race ever!

Our next meet is the BYU Indoor Invite where our Sprinters & Throwers will be joining us!
